Committee News
It is with sadness to
report the passing of Committee Chairman / Assistant
Scoutmaster Bob Parker. He has been a part of
Boy Scout
Troop 1 for over 30 years. He was also actively involved
with the Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Diocese
of Paterson for many years. Bob has been ill for the past
few weeks from a stroke he suffered and was in a NYC
hospital. He died at 3:30 PM on December 23rd 2008 in
Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL OF US WHO KNEW

our Scout Awards Ceremony on Sunday, February 17, 2008. Please see the list of

The Diocese of Paterson is a
committee affiliated with the Paterson Diocesan Catholic Committee on
Scouting serving Northern New Jersey
Council and the Patriots Path Council
of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts.
The Committee is dedicated to promoting “Duty to God” at each level
of Scouting. We are affiliated with the
National Catholic Committee
on Scouting® (NCCS), an advisory to
the Boy Scouts of America, National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts
and Camp Fire, and Region 3 of the NCCS.
Each year the Diocese of
Paterson Catholic Committee on Scouting holds several events to promote Catholic Scouting.
These events include a Boy Scout Religious Encounter, Scouter
Development, Religious Emblems Counselor Training, a Youth Religious
Emblem Recognition Ceremony, Adult Religious Awards Ceremony and our
Annual Catholic Retreat.
We are able to accomplish these events, because of the many dedicated
leaders that donate their time and energy to providing a quality program.
